Our History

The Carbondale Farmers’ Market has been established as a downtown event for over 15 years. It is now a 501c4 non-profit entity that provides a platform for small local and regional business owners to sell their local goods to the Roaring Fork Valley. The values of the market are to promote a local economy and support local growers and makers while meeting the needs of the community. We believe that by featuring locally produced foods and goods, we provide a healthier, more enjoyable quality of life in the Roaring Fork Valley.

In 2019, we began partnership with the USDA- SNAP program, providing equal access to quality local food. For those with an EBT card, just stop by the Market Information Booth to receive your SNAP coupons. We are also excited to participate in the Double Up Food Bucks Program, essentially doubling the spending power of anyone using their EBT card at the market up to $20 per card per day. Double Up Food Bucks are free to the customer, care of a collaborative program administered by Live Well Colorado. Double Up Bucks are good for fresh fruits and vegetables.

Our Mission

The Carbondale Farmers’ Market mission is to support and strengthen our region's small farms and local businesses by creating a geographical incubator for local produce and goods. We work with local and federal organizations to provide equal food and nutrition access, educational benefits through hands-on experience, and providing direct sales opportunities within the Roaring Fork Valley.
